ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Creating artwork is my way of listening and responding to the Divine, experiencing and expressing transformation, and receiving and offering nourishment. My works explore abstracted natural, celestial and human forms, and draw on my experiences, dreams and Mennonite spiritual heritage.
Juanita Yoder
I have worked with fiber-reactive dyes on silk for twelve years, along with drawing, watercolor and wearable art. I enjoy the kinetic relationship between my artwork and the viewer’s space that comes through suspending the work or creating work that moves.

It is a special honor and challenge to create work that melds personal expression with liturgical and architectural considerations. My hope is that the images which emerge spark the imagination and spirit in those who see them.
